There’s a tiny, little, completely amazing BBQ joint not too far from my house that also has an amazing beer line up – and in my neck of the woods, that’s really exciting, because I often can’t find a beer I’ll drink on a restaurant menu. Anyhow.
A while back, they hosted a special event and tapped – as you probably already guessed if you read the title of the review – a BCBS ’14-’17 Vertical. Initially the vert also had the ’13 BCBS, but by the time I got there, that keg was dry and they replaced it with Surly Darkness.
My initial thoughts:
I could drink that ’14 for the rest of eternity.
My secondary thoughts:
It went downhill from there. Year by year, it got progressively worse. The ’15-’17 aren’t something I’d drink again, but at least I can check them off my beer bucket list.
Any of you had these when they were fresh? Is it the aging that pushed them over?
